3 reasons why you should drink water first thing in the morning

Drinking water first thing in the morning when you wake up has lots of benefits. Instead of just taking coffee or tea and off to work, try water first then the rest can follow.

Here are three reasons to do so;

1. Helps remove toxins from the body

Morning is a time when toxins could be concentrated in your body and the best way you can eliminate them is by drinking at least a glass of water. Water flushes away toxins that could destroy your kidneys from your body thereby keeping you free from the danger of kidney damage.

2. Helps rehydrate the body

We sleep for barely 7 to 8 hours a day. During this time, the body might become dehydrated because the amount you took before you slept isn’t enough to keep it hydrated throughout your sleeping hours. Therefore drinking a glass or two of water immediately you wake up will help rehydrate your body immediately.

3. Increases your level of alertness

Normally, we feel fatigued due to dehydration of the body. We take along period of time without eating anything and so the first thing we eat in the morning can be a shock to the body. Drinking water first thing in the morning will get the bodywork ready thereby boosting your alertness.
